Would you like to be involved in growing grapes and making wine in The Hague? At De Haagse Stadswijngaard, you can take part in the vineyard in a way that suits your curiosity, time and sense of taste.

1. Learn to grow grapes – together

As a participant, you take care of your own section of the vineyard: 10 vines for one year. Throughout the seasons, you learn the essentials of viticulture by doing – from winter pruning and summer work to leaf management and, finally, the harvest. You work alongside others, guided by experience, observation and shared learning.

2. Learn to make wine – from grape to glass

Each year, we turn the harvest of the Haagse Stadswijngaard into wine together. Our winemaking course consists of five evenings, spread over several months, following the natural rhythm of the winemaking process. We explore different approaches to winemaking – from professional techniques to practical, hands-on methods – always with room for experimentation. You’ll receive a clear and informative manual, and because wine follows its own timing, some flexibility in your schedule is essential.

3. Join a wine tasting or a guided tour

On request, we organise tastings where you can discover our wines and learn more about the vineyard, the grapes and the choices we make along the way. During the guided tour, you’ll walk through the vineyard and hear the story behind this unexpected place.
